The "Mothering Basics" baby sling is a very versatile infant carrier. It can be used in a variety of positions to accommodate any parent and child. A must have for any new parent! Slings are made extra wide to allow you to easily carry and nurse a newborn to toddler. Slings are lightly padded on the shoulder and along the sides.
I have been making slings for 11 years and my sling pattern has evolved over that time to meet my needs and the needs of my customers. All slings are made from 100 % cotton fabric. I use nylon rings.
Padding is double stitched into place to prevent bunching. I have found that heavy padding adds too much bulk and makes the sling harder to adjust and more cumbersome to wear. Some people prefer heavy padding, or no padding, so I do take custom orders for these types of slings. I have made several 'no padding' slings for formal wear. For these formal slings, I leave the tail open and long.
